We had a lovely time at the Royal Cliff Grand Hotel. Nothing was too much trouble from the room cleaners to the pool staff and receptionists. We have been coming on and off for 20 years and have never been disappointed We have already booked for January 2025. This is a "soft scam" - Do not come

Don't trust the many good reviews. This place is what I call a "soft scam": They lure you in with a nice website, "grand hotel" label, 5 supposed stars, multitude of bars and restaurants to explore and the promise of a private beach. Plus the price is relatively affordable. The reality is that when you come here, you will be more or less trapped. The whole resort is designed so that you need a car to go anywhere. They offer a taxi service, much too expensive. As is everything in this resort. They want to trap you here, where everything is overpriced. They trap you, and then they try to suck every last penny out of you. And the many restaurants and bars? Most of them are closed all the time and only operate during very specific hours on very specific days. Do they list these opening hours on their website? Yes. Do I personally review all opening hours of all venues in this resort? No. That's why I call this place a soft scam. But there's more: The gym is in a separate building, too far away to reach it conveniently. You need to call a buggy. The breakfast is also in another building - and when you arrive there, it's like having stepped into a beehive. Not "grand hotel" style at all. All of this you only discover once you are there. The beach? Yes, it is a private beach, but it is delapidated. No beach/drinks service. The resort is full of liminal spaces (see example in the attached picture) that feel eerie. It all feels like a big void; an odd, artificial wasteland. You just get the impression that something is very wrong here. Given the above, I left early because I was unhappy here. In the middle of my booked stay, I left. When I checked out, the boss lady at the front desk didn't ask at all about my reasons for leaving. All she cared for was pointing out that the hotel will not refund the remaining days of my booked stay. What prevents me from giving 1 star is the friendliness of staff. However, that's not really specific to this hotel, but rather common in Thailand. I hope someone finds this review in order to prevent them from making the mistake of coming here. There are much nicer places in Thailand.

I was here for a wedding for 4-5days, it was a great experience property is very beautiful. Amazing view from the room, there private beach is beautiful and Mr Anusak K has helped a lot, he is very cool and jolly person. Everyone here is very polite and friendly.
